Bye 2006 Hello 2007

We love to come up with the 10 most interesting/ powerful/ memorable lists at the end of each year. Since I started a blog this year, I decided to come up with my own list of “10 memorable things” that happened in 2006.

1) Started lootalk.wordpress.com & appeared in mrbrownshow (http://www.mrbrownshow.com/index.php?paged=4) dated 20 November. T was so excited to see me in his idol’s blog that he called specially to tell me that.

2) Come to an age when I decided not to reveal my age to anyone or during interviews. I also forbade CLASSMATES to reveal their ages or acknowledge me as their classmate should they decide otherwise.

3) National Day Parade was held at National Stadium for the last time.

4) Went to UK for work this year. It was the period when World Cup was held & the British were a crazy brunch of football fans. It was a pity that Brazail did not even get into the finals.

5) Went to Hainan to seek family roots & realized that the hainanese chicken in Singapore is tastier than the one at Hainan.

6) Met the youngest person PM Lee tried to recruit as a PAP member. This person is a less than a year baby. I also voted for the 1st time in general elections.

7) My dad’s and my favourite crosstalk actor, Ma Ji, passed away.   8) 《满城尽带黄金甲》has confirmed that Gong Li has acting skills and THE figure to feel cool about Zhang Ziyi.

9) CSS received flowers on the last weekday of the year.

10) Saw falling snow for the 1st time in my life. It was in Korea in March, towards the end of winter. There was very little snow but enough to make me a happy girl.

What is your list of 10s for 2006?

Happy New Year!

Bad xmas presents

My Students’ Council from TJC celebrated Christmas last Friday.

The food standard has improved. Even Jay made a decent looking and tasty salad.

But the stardard of the presents dropped drastically…

The most interesting part about this annual party is that we get to vote for the worst present. No hypocrisy and no politeness to shout out that you have gotten a lousy present. This year, we decided to exchange presents starting with the letter “N” but this is not compulsory.

The worst
“N” present goes to (drum roll)…

“Nuts” given by Jay. Lennard (above) who was the unlucky soul who had received the worst present 2 years in a row. By the way, we have banned food as presents long time ago.

And the worst non-”N” present goes to…

“Radio” given by Chris and received by Weijing. Chris, being a good salesperson had tried to convince us that it is a good present by “trying” to demostrate how cool the clock worked. After a few attempts, it seemed that the clock was faulty. Some worst presents in the past include expired milk powder, $5 worth of 1 cent coins, etc etc… wicked but memorable…

Star Awards 2006
